Franklin County High School's Community Service
This year, Franklin County High school has raised money for several events to help local citizens and others across the U.S. Each year, Franklin county FBLA members collect money for the White Christmas program. The White Christmas program was created to help needy families in the community. Members were assigned classrooms to visit each day for one week to ask for donations. FBLA members raised over $2100.00 and all of the donations were given to Cornerstone Ministries to be distributed to needy families.
Hurricane Katrina has devastated New Orleans and the surrounding area. Franklin County FBLA setup containers around the high school to collect donations. Over $850.00 was collected for the Red Cross to help with the recovery.
FBLA also participated in the Adopt-a-Foster Child Christmas program. The Adopt-a-child program is a program where you "adopt" an unfortunate child and give him/her presents and other necessities for Christmas. Members brought in several toys and clothing; it was a big success!
